About me

I am a social and communication scientist specialising in quantitative and computational methods for the study of digital society, media, and public communication. My research advances methodological approaches while examining how digital media platforms shape communication, public discourse, and political behavior through rigorous, data-driven inquiry grounded in the social sciences.

As a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences, Humanities and International Studies at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, I lead research and teaching activities that integrate innovative computational approaches—such as large-scale data analysis, network and machine learning techniques, natural language processing, and advanced statistical modeling—to address critical questions at the intersection of communication, media, and society. Previously, I was a researcher in the Department of Communication at the University of Vienna, Austria, where I taught Advanced Data Analysis and contributed to the Computational Communication Science Lab.

I have collaborated as a research expert on projects with a range of academic and institutional partners—including the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre for Algorithmic Transparency and the Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia—on issues such as misinformation, digital influence operations, and platform governance. My work combines methodological innovation with an interdisciplinary perspective to better understand how communication technologies intersect with democracy, power, and social change.
